Hello and welcome to my brand new website. I am so excited about creating this space to chart my own sober journey and to connect with other amazing like minded souls along the way. To bring you up to date, I have just celebrated 9 months of being sober. I am truly proud of this achievement after over 40 years of struggling with alcohol dependency.
I decided to start my sober instagram page right at the beginning of my journey so that I could share the honest reality of everyday life since kicking the bottle into touch. I will be blogging regularly about various different topics around sobriety and I’m also going to feature regular guest blogs discussing various other topics under the umbrella of sobriety and addiction.
You can also use this platform to contact me as sometimes messages on instagram can get lost along the way. I’m so excited about this stage of my sobriety. I feel like I’m just at the beginning of something so amazing and I’m feeling stronger and more committed to this new way of life than ever. Of course, I can’t deny that I do have the odd moment of FOMO and irritability that this fucker still tries to dig its claws into me, that’s to be expected though, don’t you think?
Since giving up I don’t think I’ve ever been so busy! I have made so many wonderful friends and I’m even going on a sober holiday next year thanks to @welovelucid. I’m also hoping to go to a sober retreat early next year thanks to @Janey Lee Grace #thesoberclub. I am definitely lucky to have an understanding wife in the shape of @limitless_em and I also want to shine a light on how addiction impacts loved ones and how important it is to acknowledge their support, love and patience.
We all need to lean on each other and I hope you will come to see my website as place where you can drop by, see how I’m doing, let me know how you’re getting on and spread the sober love.
